Martha Pullen 2007

Wow! We had sooo much fun with our Martha Pullen School 2007! The "serger class" did a serger quilt. A sewing caddy, for all your little sewing notions, that you just have to keep with you at all times =)This is the serger quilt.
Here's a close up of the embellished center.
Jody giving the class the next set of instructions. Jody is the Queen of Sergers! The class got to use brand new 936 Viking Huskylock sergers! =)
Making sure the-header-of-the-lace-is-under-the-wall. Oh forgive me, I didn't mean to break out in song ;)
Our finished embellished center, ready to put borders on. The quilt was quilt-as-you-go.
Susans done!!
Marie put some gorgeous lace under her binding. Very nice touch!
A few other samples Jody brought with her. Using the same technique.
A pillow case.
A little girls dress.
A close up of the bodice. Wow! So intricate and all done on a serger!
The other class was the "pillow case class". They used brand new Viking Designer SE's. They did lace work, pintucks, and decorative stitches.
A close up of the pillow case. It was harder than it looks. Shaping the lace, sewing it on, cutting the fabric behind.
The class slaving over their lace shaping boards. What are they doing?
Pinning their lace into shape!
Pintucks! Made sooo easy with a Pintuck Foot.
Sewing the pintucks inside their lace shapes.
The last day was Show & Tell, and more ideas. Smocking by machine, puffing irons, & software.
Carol had this ring which has her mother's picture.
Jan brought this little crocheted apron.
Susan brought a jacket she had embroidered over in the Saudi Arabia, I believe. She said some teenage guys did this embroidery on a treadle!
This gorgeous napkin, Beth brought!
Beth also had this little piece of lace & we decided it could have been a collar.
Sadie tryed on one of the samples.
Happy Mothers Day!
